I was having so much fun, look at my big smile!!

This was a very busy week in the Bernstein household.

On Monday mommy went back to work. It was very hard to leave me, but she knew she was in excellent hands. I decided that Sunday night she didn't need to much sleep, so I kept her up until after midnight and woke her up at 4:00am. This still seemed like too much sleep so Monday and Tuesday night I kept her up until 1:00 am and get her up at 4:30am. Daddy came home from the Probowl in Hawaii on Tuesday. He had a great time and even went to visit Pearl Harbor. He brought me home a hula teddy bear and a hula puppet bear. I am so lucky!!

The other thing he brought home was bronchitis and pneumonia. Mommy and Daddy did not want me and mommy to get sick so I got to have my first sleep over at Grammy and Grandpa's! It was so much fun, I slept in Grammy and Grandpa's room so mommy could get a little extra sleep too. I decided to go back to my regular sleeping schedule and went to sleep around 10:30 and didn't get up until 6:00 am. I think I will keep this up, turns out I like to sleep quite a bit.

On Saturday, Valentine's Day, we went to Great Aunt Candy and Great Uncle Buzzy's house for a fun party! Daddy had to work, so I was Mommy's date. I had so much fun! I got to see Sky, Shane, and Great Aunt Jacquie again too!

Brooklyn is getting so big! Her one month check up was on the 27th and she measured in at 22 inches and she was 8 lbs 13 oz. She is lifting her head so well during tummy time and is smiling up a storm!! She is so much fun to be around! Last week mommy, Brookie, Grammy, Grandpa and GG went to St. Augustine. We didn't get to see much of the town because the weather was crappy, but we did get to do some shopping!!

Mommy is sad that she has to go back to work on Feb. 9th, but her Grammy and Grandpa sure are excited that they will get to spend so much time with her. Daddy leaves today for a week in Hawaii covering the ProBowl. Mommy and Brookie are pretty sad we don't get to go with him, but hey, we do get to drive him to the airport!!

Yesterday Brookie turned 1 month old! She continues to be a wonderful baby. She is sleeping very well at night, only getting up about once. She is definitly getting bigger, and pretty darn cute. While mommy was in class all day yesterday Nanny and Cousin Annie watched Brooklyn. Grammy and Grandpa came and picked us all up and we went to Cousin Ava's first Birthday Party. Brookie had so much fun and it was so nice to see Ava have such a good time!

Last week her daddy got to go to the Senior Bowl in Alabama. He had a great time and met some wonderful contacts! Next week (Feb 4 - 10) Charlie will be leaving us behind and going to Hawaii to cover the ProBowl. We are very happy for him, but definitly jealous too.

Tuesday Brookie goes to the doctor for her 1 month check up.

Brooklyn is getting bigger everyday. She is a joy to have and everyone seems to enjoy visiting with her. So far she has met many new family members and friends. She would like to thank everyone for the generous gifts they have been bringing her.

She is sleeping very well throughout the day and even at night. She wakes up only one time a night, eats and goes right back down to sleep. She enjoys hanging out with her mommy and daddy and getting licks and pokes from her doggies, Penny and Callie.

On Tuesday December 23, 2008 we went to the doctor at 10:00 am with the impression that we were going to be induced. Instead, Laura left in tears because there was no room at the hospital. Instead we had an appointment to be induced at 8:00 December 24. Charlie calmed Laura down and they went home to relax and take a nap. We decided that we would make the best of it and go out to dinner with Laura's sister and brother-in-law who were in town from Texas.

At about 5:00 we recieved a phonecall from Dr. Carbinear asking if we would be willing to come in that night instead! We asked if we could go to dinner first, knowing Laura would not get to eat once they induced. Dr. Carbinear said of course and we went to the Bowery for dinner.

At eight o'clock we arrived at the hospital ready to be induced. Everything started right away, they broke Laura's water and the real contractions began. Laura labored without any medications until about midnight and then she called for her epidural! Thank God for advancements in medicine, the epidural was great!! Everything progressed fine and at around 5:00 am Laura was 8cm and it was time to call the families.

At around six am Laura's Parents, Charlie's Parents, and Laura's brother and sister arrived. Everyone visited and then left for breakfast with Charlie so Laura could rest before the real work began. Well, that wasn't such a great idea. Soon after they left they rechecked and Laura was ready to push. Well, because everyone was in the basement of the hospital noone's cell phones were working and Laura started to panic. Before she got to hysterical, everyone showed up again and it was time to get down to business. At 7:38 we started pushing and at 7:49 Brooklyn made her grand entrance.

Brooklyn Arianna Bernstein arrived on Christmas Eve at 7:49 am weighing 7 lbs, 2 oz and measuring 20 inches long. She had a head full of hair and was absolutely perfect!
